Статья посвящена теоретическому анализу влияния рейтингования университетов на качество высшего образования. Рассматривается эволюция рейтинговых систем от информационных справочников к платформенным решениям, интегрированным в цифровую среду управления вузом. Анализируются методологические различия глобальных (QS, THE, ARWU) и национальных рейтингов, выявляется доминирование наукометрических показателей над образовательными результатами. Выделяются модели влияния рейтингов на стратегии университетов: рейтинговая адаптация, макдональдизация образования, тирания показателей и институциональное давление. Рассматриваются позитивные эффекты (стимулирование конкуренции, повышение прозрачности) и негативные деформации (манипуляции с данными, перекос в сторону научной активности, имитация качества). Обосновывается необходимость гармонизации рейтингования с принципами менеджмента качества, включая переход от оценки входных характеристик к выходным результатам и ориентацию на потребителя образовательных услуг.

This article provides a theoretical analysis of the impact of university rankings on the quality of higher education. It examines the evolution of ranking systems from information directories to platform solutions integrated into the digital university management environment. It analyzes the methodological differences between global (QS, THE, ARWU) and national rankings, revealing the dominance of scientometric indicators over educational outcomes. It identifies models of rankings’ influence on university strategies: ranking adaptation, the McDonaldization of education, the tyranny of indicators, and institutional pressure. Positive effects (stimulating competition, increasing transparency) and negative distortions (data manipulation, bias toward research activity, and imitation of quality) are considered. The need to harmonize rankings with quality management principles is substantiated, including a shift from the assessment of input characteristics to output results and a focus on the consumer of educational services.
