<p>In their article, the authors explore how the prison industry has functioned over the years, based on rehabilitation programs aimed at teaching prisoners certain professional skills. However, government officials in many countries have begun to view the prison system as a source of income for the State and at the same time as a way to combat the ever-growing problem of unemployment among prisoners. This rethink has led to interest from the business aspects of the prison industry. In turn, this interest has led to a reassessment of the potential role of the private sector in prison facilities. Having studied these and other aspects of this topic, the authors conclude that the involvement of the private sector in the employment of prisoners is a long-term trend.. There are several models of private sector interaction with the prison industry that reflect the different roles played by the private sector in the functioning of the prison industry. As a result, several models of cooperation between the private and public sectors have been identified. In the context of the prison industry, the authors conclude that there is no ideal model for private sector participation. Large corporations often prefer to enter into business contracts, while small businesses tend to take over management.</p>
<kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>труд</kwd><kwd>модель</kwd><kwd>заключенный</kwd><kwd>частный сектор</kwd><kwd>пенитенциарные учреждения</kwd><kwd>уголовно-исполнительная система</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>labor</kwd><kwd>model</kwd><kwd>prisoner</kwd><kwd>private sector</kwd><kwd>penitentiary institutions</kwd><kwd>penal enforcement system</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><ref id="ref1"><mixed-citation publication-type="other" xml:lang="ru">Шеррер К.
